about
The Euphorian Trek is an exploration between the vastly different
timbres of low strings and wood/metallic percussion. Throughout the
piece, each player experiences moments where they must stretch the sonic capabilities of their instrument. The strings must be percussive at times, and the percussionists must be lyrical at times as well.
Even though the piece is "metered", there should be no emphasis of a particular meter or pulse unless notated in the score. The overall tempo should not go above 50 bpm in order for the piece to achieve the floating feel it requires.
